Finance and Administration Manager

Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer

The Finance and Administration Manager oversees financial and administrative functions, ensuring effective
resource management, accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations. The role involves
managing the finance team, providing strategic financial insights, and supporting the company’s growth and
profitability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management:

  • Oversee financial operations: budgeting, forecasting, planning, and treasury management.
  • Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations (GAAP, IFRS).
  • Develop and implement financial policies.
  • Lead risk management and internal controls.
  • Oversee cash flow and liquidity planning.
  • Develop financial models and forecasts.
  • Mentor and develop finance team members.

Strategic Planning:

  •  Assist in strategic plan development and implementation.
  • Provide financial analysis and insights.
  • Identify cost reduction and operational improvement opportunities.
  • Lead annual budgeting and performance tracking.
  • Collaborate with executive management to optimize financial performance.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure legal, regulatory, and contractual compliance.
  • Manage internal and external audits.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, regulators, financial institutions, and investors.

Administrative Management:

  • Supervise the administrative team and manage office operations.
  • Ensure efficient office management, facilities maintenance, and procurement.
  • Oversee HR functions: employee records, benefits administration, and recruitment support.
  • Coordinate with IT support for technological resources and infrastructure.

  4. Proven leadership and team development abilities.
  5. Experience in the fintech or banking industry preferred.
  6. Familiarity with the Ugandan regulatory environment is advantageous.
  7. Excellent organizational skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or professional qualification (CPA,
    ACCA) preferred.
  2. Minimum of 8 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  3. Good understanding of the local and regional financial services market.
